Wow. This life right. Isn't it a joy ride. To describe the
amount of fun I have had these last few weeks would not only be impossible but
also inadequate.
However, caveat: mild post World Cup depression is setting
in. As a friend of mine aptly stated "I think of my life in terms of where
I will be for the next World Cup." Well, ok not really, I have no idea
where I'll be in SIX months but geesh it's been a fun month!
Anyway, WC chat over now but saying that I have been
reminded once again how wonderful being young is. And now 'young' is not an age,
it's a feeling (cliché much) but seriously. The freedom to go, see, do, be,
change and then do it all again is beyond exciting! With the grace to get it
wrong as often as needed we are handed a gift that is ours for the taking,
EXPERIENCES! And that is really all life is right, a remarkable collection of
experiences. I live THOUSANDS of miles
away from my parents and occasionally we sit down and have a fat catch up over
Skype. Yesterday was one of those days. My folks are not old by my standards.
They have now reached a point in life where the freedom of youth has been
returned to them and boy are they taking advantage. I know that when my
sister and I were growing up they sacrificed a lot for us and it gives me such
happiness to know they are out there being "yes" people. Doing new
things, experiencing how the Cape has changed or even just doing the same cool
things over and over again (SAB should offer loyalty cards for visitors, I mean
come on, how often can one literally do a beer tour is beyond me!)
So, may we all continue doing things that make us shiver in
fear, laugh in ecstasy, breathe with relief and shine with happiness!
Here's some songs to keep us happy!
Way Back When - Kodaline (review pending)
Forever Young - Rod Stewart
